The Nigeria Association of Public Health Students (NAPHS) at Taraba State University recently hosted a highly anticipated Solo Day Seminar and Workshop on April 10th, 2025. The event, held at FHS Hall 1, brought together students, professionals, and experts in the field of public health to share knowledge, insights, and best practices. With a focus on empowering public health students and professionals, the seminar featured four informative sessions on topics ranging from labour market relevance to hepatitis awareness, first aid, and Microsoft Office literacy. How to be relevant as a public health students in the labour market:
It's very competitive and it requires mix-approach. Practical skills , networking, adaptability and strong academics background.
1. Build marketable skills: posses the knowledge, identify relevant problems and creates solution. Employers looks beyond degree.

Hepatitis in Youth:
Hepatitis B is the leading virus. Causes both acute and chronic.
Has a prevention mechanism through vaccination, modes of transmission through the shares of Sharp needles and this were the youth are affected.
Lack of vaccination at birth also causes harm.
90% of children born with hepatitis, develops chronic.
20% suffers liver Cancer.
50 - 100 times more infectious than HIV.
Modes of transmission:
- Mother to child
- Sharing sharp contaminated objects
- Transfusion of infected blood
- Unprotected sex
Hepatitis is not contacted by shaking hands , hugs , kiss sweats. Hepatitis is transmitted through blood fluids or fluids.
BASICS FIRST AID:
First aid is the immediate care given to someone who is injured or ill until medical professionals arrive.
- Do not use unaware or known medications (You might end u complicating the whole issues).
Do the first thing first.
A first aider - Someone that is skilled , or trained under a recognized body.

Microsoft office literacy
